2009 Suzuki SX4 getting nav system as standard equipment
Click image to enlargeIntegrated nav systems are cash cows for the automakers. We've discussed this here before. While you can run to the local Target and buy a perfectly useful portable unit for around two-hundred bucks, clicking the nav checkbox on a car or truck's option sheet will probably run you ten times as much. That's painful. For the 2009 model year, however, Suzuki's looking to give shoppers some relief by making touchscreen nav standard equipment in the four-door SX4 Sport and... Full article...

Suzuki SX4 cheapest car on U.S. market with standard GPS
Satellite navigation systems are hardly something to shout about anymore - everything from Toyota’s Corolla to Ford’s Focus offers the GPS-based gadgetry as an option. But neither do it standard, and no one in America does it under $16,000 with GPS from the factory. Except for Suzuki, that is. Standard features of the Travel, Real-time Information and Play TRIP unit read like those of any other factory satellite navigation system, but it does have a trick up its sleeve. Based on a Garmin... Full article...

Suzuki SX4t: "t" is for turbo, courtesy of Road Race Motorsports
Click above for a high-res gallery fo the Suzuki SX4t.When Suzuki launched the SX4, we couldn't help thinking that the oddly shaped hatch had some aftermarket potential. Suzuki seemed to think the same thing and tapped Road Race Motorsports, the renowned SoCal tuning firm, to create a one-off concept for the Chicago Auto Show. Road Race decided that it could do better than just some wheels, brakes, a body kit and a few engine mods, so its created the SX4t, a turbocharged version of the all-wheel-drive... Full article...

Super Aguri sale called off
Super Aguri confirmed on Wednesday that the previously agreed sale of the Japanese team to the investment company Magma Group has fallen through. Earlier reports said the Leafield based team had received a letter from Magma, headed by Martin Leach, explaining that the expected backing - thought to originate from Dubai - had been held up. It is believed that the news could affect the team’s ability to race in Spain next weekend without the intervention of Honda or Bernie Ecclestone. Super Aguri... Full article...

Suzuki Swift DZire takes a dip during test drive
It's a common test-driving practice to attack a corner a bit aggressively and "see what she can do." A swan dive was the answer a driver in India received from a four-door Suzuki/Maruti Swift DZire during a test session. The car skidded out of control, hit a large rock, and then tumbled into the Shambhavi River. The attempt to emulate the Amphicar wound up more like an impression of Alvin, unfortunately. All four occupants were injured and ended up in the hospital, while the car itself appears to be a... Full article...

Unhatched: Mazda2 sedan launches in China
Click above to view the Mazda2 sedan in hi-res There are certain things we may never understand about Eastern cultures. Somewhere down on the list comes the notion that compact hatchbacks look better with diminutive trunks. Take for example this Mazda2 sedan, which the Japanese automaker has prepared especially for the Chinese market. The sedan was unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show, and joined the hatchback variant in China this month with prices equivalent to $12,400 for the base 86-hp 1.3 to $16,500... Full article...
