Nissan to get more electric by 2010
The media has given a lot of attention to Toyota and GM in the race for automotive electrification. After all, many of the other current players in the game license their technology from the likes of these two. Nissan has remained relatively quiet in the competition though, sitting behind its Hypermini small electric vehicle and Hybrid Altima, the latter of which happens to be the result of one of those previously mentioned licensing deals. The recent 2008 New York Auto Show saw Nissan taking things a... Full article...

Jerry York: Ford should sell Volvo and Mercury
The former CFO of Chrysler and chief aide to Kirk Kerkorian and his Tracinda investment company, Jerry York, has given some insight about his thoughts on the current state of Ford and its subsidiaries. York, who met with Ford CEO Alan Mulally last month, thinks the Blue Oval chief will sell Volvo and Mercury but will likely retain Lincoln. He said cutting Volvo and Mercury from Ford’s lineup is the right thing to do and that’s what he would do if he had the top job. “I’m very confident... Full article...

No more Marlboro logos for Ferrari
It is likely that a cigarette brand will never again be outwardly visible on the livery of a formula one car. Other teams - notably Renault, McLaren and Honda - farewelled their tobacco-fuelled dollars a couple of years ago, as anti-advertising laws swept Europe and the world. Ferrari, however, opted to renew its association with Philip Morris, and until recently has been displaying Marlboro logos where possible, including in places like Monaco and China.
