Alfa Romeo design chief resigns
Along with Ferrari, Lamborghini and Maserati, Alfa Romeos personify the image of Italian motoring with their sporty overtones and curvaceous lines, however some of the brand’s most admired models were in fact created by an American designer. Blast from the past: 1992 Jaguar XJ220
It’s hard to imagine but not that long ago Jaguar laid claim to building the world’s fastest production car with its XJ220 supercar, which during the early 1990s was speed king until it was knocked off its throne by the McLaren F1. The car featured a turbocharged mid-mounted V6 developing 549hp 409kW and was capable of reaching a top speed of 217mph 350km/h. The idea of first building the car arose after a team of Jaguar enthusiasts envisaged developing a new supercar that could beat the Ferraris... Full article...

Ferrari 365 GB/4 Daytona turns 40
While the original 1966 Ferrari 365 was a beautiful car, it was the more focused 1968 365 GTB/4 that garnered most of the attention. This was mostly because of its hard-edged Pininfarina designed body, which was a sharp departure from traditional Ferrari styling at the time. The GT was also famous for its triple win in June 1967 at the ‘24 hours of Daytona’ event, which earned it the unofficial nickname of the Ferrari Daytona. Now, over four decades later, Ferrari has commemorated the... Full article...

Ferrari plots return to coachbuilding
Ferrari is planning a return to its coachbuilding heritage this year, catering to wealthy clients who desire something a little more exclusive than the ‘off-the-shelf’ Ferrari products. Ferrari is hoping to cash in on the clients and collectors looking for independent designs that sit on Ferrari mechanicals, the result of which... Full article...

Lamborghini lends its name to Bluetooth headset
There’s usually nothing worth mentioning about a Bluetooth headset but here’s one that will get the attention of most performance enthusiasts. The device is the ‘Tonino Lamborghini Bello’ and apart from Lamborghini’s shield emblem on the outer casing there’s not much that the headset has in common with the Italian supercar brand. The headset is sold under the Tonino Lamborghini, a brand of exclusive watches and leather goods, and it was apparently designed with some input by Ferruccio... Full article...
