Honda V8 coming... in 2015
"You've got to have the right tool for the job." "You can't bring a knife to a gun-fight." Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. We've heard it all before. Honda makes some excellent engines, there's no doubt about that, from small displacement four-pots that rev through the roof to gloriously smooth and reliable V6 units. Unfortunately, the fun stops there, as the Japanese automaker has steadfastly stuck to its guns, not building an eight-cylinder engine when it can do just as well with fewer pistons... Gordon Murray - Reflections on the Acura NSX
Gordon Murray is a renowned designer of Formula One race cars and the famous and ultra wicked awesome McLaren F1 supercar. This is a translated reflection on the ACURA NSX by the Automotive Rockstar Designer himself. To this day, the NSX is still a car that is near and dear to my heart. I put 75,000 Km on my NSX over the course of six or seven years. It’s very difficult to discuss the NSX using current values and sensibilities. When the NSX debuted, the word “supercar” was still a... Full article...

BMW switching to turbocharged M cars
After two decades of normally-aspirated high-revving engines shoehorned under the hoods of its M cars, BMW is changing direction and will begin to offer direct-injection turbocharged powerplants in its future high-performance flagships. The German automaker is blaming tough environmental emission standards and the soaring manufacturing costs of the specialty-built V8 and V10 engines found in today's M3, M5, and M6 models for its decision. We also suspect the fact that both Audi and Mercedes-Benz have... Full article...

Daimler trucks won't cut German production hours | The Detroit News | detnews.com
STUTTGART, Germany -- The head of Daimler AG's truck business said it does not plan to cut working hours at its German plants in the immediate future, despite the economic downturn, but would not rule out further savings in the United States. Andreas Renschler told The Associated Press on Monday that the truck business isn't reducing its work week now for employees "and the way things look now, it won't come in the first half of 2009." The company is planning to cut back most of its part-time help by... Full article...

Truck Monkee adds heavy carrying space | The Detroit News | detnews.com
Richard "R.P." Miller owned a pickup truck when he was hauling all the bricks and other materials and tools he needed to build the patio behind his house in Chesterfield Township. But that truck had given way to a Toyota Corolla by the time his wife decided she wanted the patio extended around the corner of the house. "Now I have a Corolla and I need to rent a big machine to vibrate and stamp the sand base into place," Miller says. "Do I have to rent a truck?" Miller didn't want to spend that extra... Volvo's S60 concept
Just like they did with the XC60, this is pretty much what the new production version of the S60 will look like.I hear the car is larger than the current model. To distance itself from the S40.What we re getting at is that it s high-time for Volvo in order to introduce a brand-new s60 sedan. Volvo s shoulder-like design confession will get a slight postmortem regardless a double wave accent antique each wheel instead of just a straight shot from front to rear.  We also see inevitable Audi and...
