Click above for high-res image gallery of the 2010 Mazda3 sedan Mazda has unveiled its 2010 Mazda3 sedan here at the LA Auto Show and we managed to snap some nice shots off as it was spinning around on a huge rotating stand. Underhood is a newly-enlarged 2.5-liter version of Mazda's MZR inline-four that... Full article...

Big 3 troubles rumble through L.A. show | The Detroit News | detnews.com
LOS ANGELES -- If someone at the L.A. Auto Show wants one or all of Detroit's automakers to fail, they're keeping quiet. Perhaps they know something about the automotive business that the general public doesn't and they also know how volatile the market is for all carmakers. During the first day of the press previews at the Los Angeles show, where carmakers unveiled their newest and greenest machines, auto executives, analysts and others said they were keeping a close eye on Washington, D.C., where... LA Preview: 2010 Mazda3 gains 167-hp 2.5L
Mazda has let loose a few more details on its 2010 Mazda3 just two days ahead of its official unveiling at the LA Auto Show. As before, there will be a base 2.0-liter engine that comes standard along with an optional larger unit, now enlarged to 2.5 liters. The displacement bump comes with a power increase, naturally, up to 167 galloping ponies from 156. Both engines sit under a newly-domed hood and gulp air from a smiling front grille that seems to be the new car's most controversial styling feature... Full article...

Next-gen Mazda3
The Mazda3 has been a compact darling ever since its introduction in 2004, and even though its current design is nearly five years old, it still wins many comparison tests. Since its near the end of a design cycle, a new Zoom Zoom Mazda is on its way, and some interesting renderings have been published online of what the new Mazda3 could look like. The design theme is decidedly Mazda6-based up front, with similarly angled LED headlights and the same basic shape, but this unofficial Mazda3 is far more... Full article...

C-Max and Kuga may follow Euro Focus to the U.S.
Click above for a high-res gallery of the Ford KugaNary a month week day goes by that we're not told of the imminent importation of Ford's grass-is-greener Euro models. The Fiesta has been approved for U.S. consumption in 2010, and even though we've heard the Focus shtick before, it would appear that it's finally coming to fruition in late 2010 or early 2011. But Ford can't rely on just one product to justify sales of the next-generation C1 platform in the States there's also the Volvo S40/C30 and... Full article...

Saturn Astra: Punch the accelerator and call it Euro brash
I come from a long line of Europeans -- illiterate, mud-eating Europeans from the Outer Hebrides, to be exact, whose idea of a good time was to go down to the firth and watch the plague victims wash out to sea. Even so, I've always had an affinity for the Continent. Between New Orleans and Amsterdam, I prefer Amsterdam. I'll take Rousseau over Jefferson, Beck's over Budweiser, Formula One over NASCAR, and Heidi Klum over my knee. And, I seem to prefer European cars. I suppose that's fair. Everybody has...
