2008 Belgrade Auto Show: Zastava Skala 55 (a.k.a. the Yugo)
Click above for more pics of the Zastava Skala 55The Easter holiday is a time of rebirth, and we can't think of a better automotive resurrection to celebrate than the Zastava Skala 55. Haven't heard of the Skala 55? Sure you have! It was sold here in the United States as the Yugo GV, and summarily tarred and feathered for being a $3,900 brand new car. Let's avoid an epic fight about the past and focus on why we're so jazzed that the rebuilt Zastava factory is still turning out these crisply styled... Full article...

Farley may replace Ford's Mulally
Ford Motor Co.'s new chief marketing officer, Jim Farley, and the president of its Americas group, Mark Fields, are both on the short list of executives identified by the company to succeed CEO Alan Mulally. But Ford stressed any talk of Mulally's leaving is "premature." Joe Laymon, Ford's human resources chief, made public the names on his succession list for Mulally during an interview with Automotive News that was published Monday. Toyota thinks outside box
Toyota likes to think of its quirky, boxy Scion as a 21st-century chariot of the soul -- not just an affordable car, but also a unique expression of the young, hip person who Toyota hopes is driving it. Now Toyota's Scion enthusiasts will have even more "me time": a marketing campaign with an underground vibe intended to show just how much their chosen transportation reflects their personality. With an eye to the social networking ethos that has made Facebook and MySpace wildly popular, Toyota will let... Full article...

Next Mustang and Falcon to share new RWD platform
In a move similar to GM’s plan to bring rear-drive Australian vehicles to U.S. shores, rival carmaker Ford is also planning to beef up its product lineup with some much needed RWD models. The new cars will be based around a single platform, in line with Ford’s new strategy of global platform sharing, and will eventually spawn the next-generation Mustang and Falcon models current version pictured as well as new sedans for both Ford North America and Lincoln. Lamborghini lends its name to Bluetooth headset
There’s usually nothing worth mentioning about a Bluetooth headset but here’s one that will get the attention of most performance enthusiasts. The device is the ‘Tonino Lamborghini Bello’ and apart from Lamborghini’s shield emblem on the outer casing there’s not much that the headset has in common with the Italian supercar brand. The headset is sold under the Tonino Lamborghini, a brand of exclusive watches and leather goods, and it was apparently designed with some input by Ferruccio... Full article...

Ford planning Capri comeback?
After bowing out of the market in the late 1980s, Ford’s European Capri sports coupe could make a return as a rival to Volkswagen’s rejuvenated Scirocco coupe.
