New Alfa Romeo Duetto
Cyberspace is rife with speculation about a new small Alfa Romeo convertible, which could be an indicator of one of two things: either the quintessential Italian automaker has got one such spider in the works, or it's just plain old wishful thinking. Rumors suggest a revival of the Alfa Romeo Duetto, popularized by Dustin Hoffman in The Graduate, which could feature a retractable hard-top for motoring al fresco under the Tuscan sun or closed again for parking in Rome and winding through the Alps. Along... Full article...

Hybrid sales up 38%, new record reached in U.S.
Are more consumers basing their car buying decisions on their environmental awareness? Or are they merely seeking to save their pocketbooks from the rapidly rising price of fuel? 2010 Mazda MAZDASPEED3
In 2007, the Mazdaspeed3 was the most powerful front-driver under $25,000. Yet, it was the deft combination of power and utility that made the hatchback irresistible. The 2010 Mazdaspeed3, fortunately, relies on much of the previous generation's hardware -- engine included -- but gains Mazda's smiley-face aesthetics, an updated suspension and driveline, and reworked electronics to improve upon an already stout platform. As with the standard Mazda3, Mazda's "Nagare" design language is apparent... Mazda's rotary club for one
The thing that sets the RX-8 apart from the pack is its rotary engine. The great thing about the Mazda's rotary is how progressive the power delivery is. There’s no power lag or surge. The problem, though, is that it doesn’t really come alive until you hit 6000 rpm, below that it feels as if it’s in slow motion.     That being said, it is a competent, easy car to drive, that’s great for around town errands. It small size makes it easy to maneuver in crowded grocery... Full article...

2011 MAZDA RX-7
Behind closed doors, far from the public's eye, an anonymous source at Mazda revealed to one of our spies in Japan that there will be another rotary-engine car coming from the Hiroshima-based company. It's still early, but a team is being assembled as you read this to produce such a car. The basis for the future car — we have yet to confirm if it will be called the RX-7 — is the 16X rotary engine, unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show last year. The 16X is an all-new Wankel — an evolution... Full article...
