US light vehicle sales will begin a slow but steady recovery in 2009, building to 17.7 million units by 2014 as the vehicle mix changes, according to a new analysis by automotive market forecasting firm CSM Worldwide. CSM forecasts global auto market rebound in 2009
Drawing on a host of statistics, trends and no small share of black arts, the industry analyst group CSM Worldwide has announced a forecast for the auto industry that shows a slow 2008 followed by a robust 2009, ramping up to 17.7 million units worldwide by 2014. Though many news outlets will decry March as a horrible sales month in the auto industry, it wasn't that bad and there are some notable successes. The reason it isn't as bad as some will tell you is because most outlets compare the volume of cars sold last month to the same month in 2007, rather than comparing the average number of cars sold per day.
