Each year we throw a big Christmas Party and invite all our friends and families to join us as we get ready for the Holiday Season.  The Holidays have always been a big ordeal in our family, and with our party this evening, the impact grows bigger watching as my son starts to take it all in and watch the festivities develop before his eyes.It is fascinating watching my son grow up, and seeing his interests develop.  We can’t walk through a parking lot without him seeing either a BMW or... Commentary: Auto dealer waits for the posturing to finally end | The Detroit News | detnews.com
Dan Frost owns three American cars and five American dealerships and a dwindling supply of patience. He's tired of posturing legislators in Washington. Tired of the UAW getting punched around by people with no sense of history. Tired of his neighbors in West Bloomfield Township lying to themselves about how perfect their foreign cars are. Really, really tired of General Motors CEO Rick Wagoner. Also, he'd like to sell more automobiles. But that won't happen until everyone is through posturing. And if GM... Full article...

They should also be armed with the best information available to help them make a savvy choice in the showroom. While selling points like design and performance are easily discerned, a less sexy but still very important sales consideration is residual value. Negotiating a favorable price is just part of the financial equation in a new vehicle purchase. Even more critical from an accounting... Full article...

Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 may be a dinosaur, but it's a blistering fast dinosaur | The Detroit News | detnews.com
If you're going to guzzle gas, the 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the best ways to do it. This is not just a dreaded SUV, a dinosaur in the making, it's one of the fastest ones ever built, a velociraptor in sheet metal. Gloriously fast, this SUV sucks down more gas than even the EPA thinks: 11 miles per gallon city and 14 mpg highway. Those are under the best conditions. During my test drive of this SRT8, I probably used a gallon just to start it and listen to the specially tuned 6.1-liter Hemi roar... Full article...

Next-gen Chrysler 300/Dodge Charger to beat CAFE standards, get 8-speed auto
It's pretty obvious at this point that Cerberus doesn't want to keep Chrysler, and turbulent economic realities have scuttled what few available prospects there would have been for new ownership. Some have openly wondered whether team Pentastar is even working on new products at all. Product development VP Frank Klegon insists that new Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep models are on their way, and he points to the next 300/Charger as proof.
