370HP Golf R32 by ABT Sportsline
The Golf R32 is by no means slow but the sheer number of tuning kits available for the torquey hot-hatch reveals there are a lot of people out there who disagree. The latest kit is from Germany’s ABT Sportsline, and although it’s not as nearly as potent as HGP’s 640 twin-turbo model, the new tuner R32 still packs some serious punch. The ABT Volkswagen Golf R32 is powered by a V6 engine with 370hp 272kW on tap. This is enough to propel the car from 0-100km/h in just five seconds flat, down from the... Full article...

Camaro, Challenger lead list of hot cars
Psst! Want to buy a hot car? No, not one that's stolen. Hot cars are the highly desirable, hard-to-get cars that everybody has heard about -- and wants to be the first on the block to own. So what are the hottest cars now? The Dodge Challenger is a super-hot muscle car now en route to dealer showrooms, where it won't last long. BMW's all-new 1 Series, and Jaguar's sexy XF sedan also are getting lots of buzz -- and plenty of orders, too. Honda's Fit might give buyers fits trying to find one. Mini Coopers... Full article...

BMW 1-series can fly; too bad it's heavy and ugly
Let's begin with a verity, an undeniable truth that is evident from 3 feet away or from the cold distance of outer space: The new 1-series BMW is ugly. Seriously ugly. Ugly with X-wings locked in attack formation. I know an ugly car when one blows past me at 100 mph. Ugly cars are unusual, for very good reasons. Auto companies are vast organizations, with billions of dollars invested, and tens of thousands of employees, some of whom can actually pick out their own ties. Also, in an age of computer-aided... Ford planning more Shelby GT500KR Mustangs for 2009
If you missed out on one of last year’s 540hp 40th anniversary Shelby GT500KR Mustangs you’re in luck because the Ford tuner is planning an additional run of 746 cars for the 2009 model year. Demand for the car worldwide has surged, no doubt spurred on with the help of the car’s starring role as KITT in the new Knight Rider series, so this time 175 cars will be headed outside of the U.S. Like the current 40th anniversary limited edition, the 2009 Shelby GT500KR will feature the same 540hp 5.4L... Mini to the max: Clubman is bigger, and even better
It's my considered opinion that the BMW Mini Cooper is the most successful car design of the last 20 years. What can touch it? Here's a car that puts a spearmint thrill through you every time you turn the key, a larking, capering, glass-and-steel nymph that nicks past other traffic like it's mired in molasses. On top of the giddy charge of merely wheeling the thing, you've got this utterly charismatic styling, a po-mo masterpiece, a rolling tribute to the iconic Mini 1959 to 2000 designed by Alec... "Twist the Throttle" motorcycle documentary series launches online
Over the weekend, Dylan Weiss from Cry Havoc Productions, Inc. let us know that his latest motorcycle-specific documentary went live at Discovery's Turbo online site. We've spent some time watching the footage, and we think it's awesome. Focusing in on Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, BMW, Ducati, MV Agusta and Bimota, the crew took plenty of footage home with them and managed to ride some of the greatest modern sportbikes ever created along the way. Best of all, over four hours of video is available... Full article...

BMW Canada sets Vice magazine aglow
Magazines and ads are forever tied at the hip. After all, without the latter, the former can't exist. A magazine's front cover is one of the few spots left that's devoid of commercial encroachment -- until now. BMW Canada and Vice magazine have managed to give the 1-series top billing in the April edition. By day, it's just another issue of Vice, but douse the lights and you see some very clever marketing in action. That's because the mag has a special glow-in-the-dark treatment that turns the cover... Tata to buy Ford brands
Three months after India's Tata Motors Ltd. emerged as the lead bidder for Ford Motor Co.'s Jaguar and Land Rover brands, the two companies appear to have a deal, according to sources familiar with the situation. A formal announcement of the sale is expected Wednesday. Tata reportedly will pay about $2 billion for the two British luxury brands, the sources said, and Ford will make a one-time contribution of $600 million to the pension fund for Jaguar and Land Rover workers. The one-off payment would be... Full article...

Rampenfest to rock mythical town of Oberpfaffelbachen for literal launch of BMW 1-Series
Click above for a few images leading up to Rampfest. As jaded pseudo-journalists, viral marketing campaigns have lost some of their grimy allure over the last few years. But BMW's latest attempt to get the masses pumped about the imminent launch of the 1-series coupe in the U.S. has so much hoontastic potential than even our oddly named friends can't ignore it.Head on over to the fictional Bavarian village of lemme get this right Oberpfaffelbachen's website and you're greeted with the Oktoberfest anthem... Ford set to announce sale of Jaguar, Land Rover to Tata on Wednesday
Could the protracted sale of Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford to Tata finally be coming to an end? After learning last week that Tata has secured the financing required to make the deal possible, reports are coming from London's Financial Times suggesting that the official announcement of the sale, reportedly worth $2 billion, could come as soon as on Wednesday, when Jaguar workers return to work after enjoying their Easter holiday. This sale, of course, follows up Ford's sale of Aston Martin, leaving a... Full article...
