Hyundai joins race to develop ultra-low cost vehicle
Hyundai has confirmed it will enter the burgeoning ultra-low cost vehicle market with the announcement that it’s planning to launch a small car for the Indian and Chinese car market by 2011, or 2012. The car will have a relatively low price tag to attract customers in the two rapidly growing markets, which combined comprise over one-third of the world’s population and thus present a critical opportunity for carmakers. Hyundai won’t offer 3.3L V6 in U.S. Genesis sedan
Contrary to a report earlier today about Hyundai’s Genesis Sedan potentially being outfitted with the same 3.3L V6 found in the company’s Azera and Sonata, the company says it will not be offering the engine in U.S.-bound versions of the car. The engine will be offered in some other markets, however. The information on the 3.3L engine, dug up by the eagle-eyed gang at The Truth About Cars on the EPA’s fuel economy database website, indicated that the same 249hp V6 equipped in the new...
