For two days press was full of the articles about the vehicles presented there. Finally today is the first day when the show starts and will take place for 10 days till March 30. This year New-York started earlier. Geneva Auto Show has been finished two weeks ago and the New-York Show starts right after it. Earlier the time difference between them was bigger for a comparison, there was the whole month between the shows last year. The... Full article... That range "is looking to be a more reasonable and realistic view," Randy Pflughaupt, vice president for marketing at Toyota Motor Sales USA, said at the auto show. At the start of the year, the Japanese automaker had predicted the market would be flat in 2008, with sales totaling... Full article... What can touch it? Here's a car that puts a spearmint thrill through you every time you turn the key, a larking, capering, glass-and-steel nymph that nicks past other traffic like it's mired in molasses. On top of the giddy charge of merely wheeling the thing, you've got this utterly charismatic styling, a po-mo masterpiece, a rolling tribute to the iconic Mini 1959 to 2000 designed by Alec... That's right, former Speaker Tom Foley's 2001 shiny Corvette convertible is up for sale. Much to the Washington Democrat's chagrin. Foley, 79, now largely retired as a lobbyist with Akin Gump, is no longer driving. But it sounds as though he'll always have a soft spot for the car. "He loves that red Corvette," says Foley's wife, Heather... Full article... What is to like about this situation? Actually, for those of us involved in the auto industry, the short-term pain may bring some long-term gain. For amid all the gloom and doom, there could be a bright side for the U.S. auto industry and for Michigan itself. The steep decline of the dollar against the euro has... Full article... Outlander sounds akin to "Rough Rider," or maybe something closer to Dodge's rugged Durango or Jeep's Wrangler. However, there's nothing rough about the Outlander. The engine is so quiet that I didn't know it was running when I first got behind the wheel. The 2008 model has one of those electronic keys that you don't have to insert in the ignition. Just have it on you or in the car, then... Full article... Alonso and his team are planning to build just three cars, each at a cost of $150,000, at a the painstaking slow rate of just one every eight months and plans to promote them to possible buyers in cities like Dubai, New York and Moscow. The car is styled after the original Bentley S3 from the 1960s and includes the same... Full article...
