There will only be a few trim and content updates incorporated on the performance Z06 for the 2009 model year. These include a set of new ‘spider’ design 10-spoke alloy wheels finished in either silver, gray or chrome. There’s also color-keyed door and... Full article...

American Axle strike cost GM $2.82 billion
With recent news of workers crossing the picket line and the American Axle strike being called off, General Motors has taken stock of the strike action’s effect on its business. In total, the strike cost the carmaker almost $2.82 billion but other costs have yet to rear their heads - such as lost customer loyalty due to long waiting periods for vehicles. As fuel prices rise, hybrids pay off sooner
The price penalty for the added complexity of a hybrid drivetrain has always been a bit of a concern for those looking to not just save fuel, but to save money. In some calculations from a decade ago, popular hybrids would have taken as much as eight or ten years to repay in fuel savings the cost of the car over an equivalent non-hybrid model. But today’s fuel prices are closing that gap - in some cases down to just 18 months. In the United States, $4 per gallon gasoline is a nightmare soon to be... Full article...

Cadillac working to build image with new models
Over the last few decades the American auto industry - including Cadillac - has seen brand image slide steadily lower, both at home and abroad, while rivals in Germany and Japan have been becoming progressively stronger. It looks like we may already be seeing the pendulum swing back toward Cadillac, however. Carmakers need common solution for future mobility
Carmakers are faced with a number of options for alternative fuel motoring but at this stage it’s still anyone’s guess as to what will be the dominant fuel source of the future. That’s why most of them are hedging their bets, developing a number of different technologies in the hope that one of them will be the right one. But if any technology is to be successful in the short term carmakers will need to form a single solution and convince buyers of its viability. That’s the consensus of a group... Full article...
