Detroit auto show's electric promises belie internal combustion reality | detnews.com | The Detroit News
Listening, watching and reading the international media's reporting on the Detroit car show, you could be forgiven for thinking that we will soon all be zipping around noiselessly in environmentally neutral electric cars. General Motors Gives Up Some Brands
General Motors realizes it cannot survive in the current situation if it will not have some changes in the structure, so one of the major decisions was the elimination of the brands that don’t bring much profit. The manufacturer plans to keep Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick and GMC, but Pontiac, Saab, Saturn and Hummer are going to leave the company. General Motors has been talking about Hummer sale since summer when the fuel prices went high and the sales of the gas-guzzlers dropped. At that time... Full article...

Yes, the Jeep Patriot EV Chrysler LLC introduced is cute. The Cadillac Converj has an interesting name spelling -- and is a great way to make use of the Chevrolet Volt's underpinnings -- but General Motors Corp. won't sell one of them this year. These vehicles are important, but in an... Full article...
