Bugatti Veyron targa confirmed for next year
We've known as much for a while, but according to a Georges Keller, a Bugatti spokesperson quoted by Automotive News, a drop-top Veyron is in the works and is due to launch sometime next year. Details are scarce, but according to an unnamed ex-Bugatti executive, the targa-topped hypercar will feature a removable hardtop, but its overtly wealthy owners will have to plan ahead, since there won't be any room in the Bug to store the roof on the go. According to the anonymous exec, the decision to go with a... Full article...

Bugatti confirms open-top Veyron Targa
Bugatti’s widely renowned Veyron will be getting a Targa variant next year, according to a source at parent company Volkswagen. The news confirms what we had speculated almost a year ago, and the fact that a former Bugatti executive has spoken out lends a good deal of credibility to the claim - not to mention that Bugatti’s communication chief, Georges Keller, has also confirmed the convertible Veyron is in the works. According to the exec, the targa option was the only one available to... Full article...

Hennessey Lexus IS-F and Nissan GT-R in the works
Perhaps most famous - or infamous - for its even more over-the-top take on the already outrageous Dodge Viper, Hennessey Performance is considering expanding its collection of custom cars to include more foreign makes and top of its list at the moment is the new Lexus IS-F saloon and the Nissan GT-R super-coupe. Hennessey’s already heady list of tweaked marques includes famous brands like Bugatti, Bentley, BMW and Porsche. But now the American-based tuner is looking to add some Japanese iron to... Carbonyte to stretch Lambo, Koenigsegg and Veyron into limos
There's something about McLaren supercar projects that ends with people running in every which direction. Following the benchmark McLaren F1 supercar, some stayed with the Formula One team; Gordon Murray went his own way; others went on to work on the Caparo T1; while another is developing his own supercar. Likewise, the engineers from the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren project have headed off to do their own things. Case in point: Carbonyte, the automotive composites specialist that developed the SLR's... Hennessey performance expanding tuning to include ZR1, GT-R and IS F
From the Mustang to the Viper and Veyron, Hennessey Performance has spread its abilities across the performance car spectrum. And with hi-po vehicles like the IS F, ZR1, and GT-R on their way to buyers' garages, John Hennessey says he is working on packages to make all of those cars even higher-po. The IS F looks to be the first in line, with the experiment subject arriving at Hennessey's shop next week. The car will be a test bed for "headers, exhaust and air induction systems first. Then maybe a... Full article...
