2009 Auto Shanghai: Crisis, What Crisis?
"We've paid for our show stand," said Bentley engineering chief Ulrich Eichhorn as we sat in the back of a Continental Flying Spur to escape the heat and the noise of the first media day at Auto Shanghai 2009. All four Bentleys on display -- the Flying Spur, a Continental GT Speed and GTC Speed, and an Arnage -- had been sold to eager Chinese buyers by 2pm.A few minutes earlier, Rolls-Royce boss Tom Purves had announced the new "small" Rolls-Royce would be called the Ghost, and... Volkswagen CC premium midsize car class
Premium midsize cars may be upscale luxury machines, but they are also among the leaders in all-around performance, reliability, and value for the money.Stepping up to a premium midsize car often means more standard features, such as leather upholstery, heated seats, uplevel audio, and techno-gadgets galore. Most of these cars provide plenty of power to go along with a supple ride, and in many cases, superb handling. Most cars in this class are 4-door sedans, but there are wagons available, as well as a... 2010 Porsche Panamera
For Porsche, the 911 has been both a blessing, and a curse. A blessing in that it has seems to have transcended the usual automotive evolutionary process; a curse in that the car still, in many ways, defines the entire company. Porsche has attempted to break the mold numerous times over the past three decades -- remember the 928, and the 924/944/968? But until the Boxster -- a clever product development by former R&D chief Horst Marchart that delivered two cars the 996 edition 911 and the Boxster --... Full article...

2010 Jaguar XFR
It's not a stretch to say the Jaguar XF is the car that has reshaped and reinvigorated the brand -- its S-Type predecessor a distant memory. In a recent comparison, we ranked the XF above its BMW, Benz and Lexus competitors. It was a serious contender for the 2009 Car of the Year. Despite the occasional niggle, we're enamored of the Jag sedan. Now, with the 2010 Jaguar XFR, the crew in Coventry has gone and made the XF even better. The hottest XF gets more power, but at no loss in fuel economy. It's... Full article...

Pontiac Solstice GXP Coupe
It is said, "Bad news is best delivered at the earliest opportunity and in the greatest possible detail." That's where our story begins.Pontiac first teased the notion of a coupe version of its Solstice roadster concept at the Detroit auto show in 2002. Slow-forward seven years and it's finally here, in naturally aspirated and turbocharged, 260-horsepower GXP form. That original 2002 design study was a fixed roof hatchback, somewhat similar to a BMW {{{Z4}}} coupe. On its way to production... Full article...

Lincoln Concept Vehicle
Forget the Continentals of your past, or the big, long rear-drive concepts of the early '00s. While BMW has proven that rear-wheel-drive c-segment size luxury works, with its 1 Series, Lincoln is turning next to the 2011 Ford Focus' platform for post-global warming luxury. To prepare us for a CAFE-friendly world, Lincoln rolled out the C concept for c-segment, and so far, without an "MK" prefix at Detroit.Looking much like a Renault with Lincoln's "flying wing" '41 Continental retro... The Hydrogen Cars Technology
Hydrogen cars may be a great idea in the future, but they’re not economically viable right now. Hydrogen cars are not a solution right now, but they will be. Twenty years ago people said hybrid cars were not worth persuing. Hydrogen cars drive and feel the same like a normal vehicle, even with added load as a result of hydrogen fuel tank. BMW Hydrogen 7 is another example of hydrogen fuel cell technology. Hydrogen cars do however, have the potential to be better cars than Hybrid Cars in several... Full article...
