Remember how excited we got when rumors started flying about the short-list of candidates to host NBC's version of Top Gear? Well, the BBC's original version isn't about to change any time soon, but another motor-related program is coming to the Beeb, and racing fans over on the British Isles have been getting all hot and bothered as the BBC has won the contract to broadcast Formula One grands prix. First Aston Martin Rapide photo emerges on the web
There is only one illustration available, but it’s claimed to be nothing but the real thing. Or so reports CAR Magazine UK, which made the representation of the forthcoming Aston Martin Rapide lately. The magazine says that the computer-produced sample comes directly from Aston and previews the concluding form of this super-ultra four-door coupe. They obviously have another rendition on hand but are reserving that for the January 2009 print copy of CAR. From what can be seen, it looks like that the... Full article...

The hottest rumor i came upon at the LA Auto show was that the BMW CS concept although cancelled, was going to be re-incarnated by the Gents over at Rolls-Royce and become a straight on competitor, to the Aston Martin Rapide. And boy, was I digging THAT when I heard the rumor. So I at the BMW/Rolls dinner i approached a couple execs and asked them flat out if I was on to something. And the answer was...NOT gonna happen. So I went into my diatribe telling them that it might be an awesome idea if they really... Audi R8 GT3 will have coming out party in Essen
Audi has created an R8 that looks like it would rather kill things than win races, but knowing Audi it will probably just stick to winning. The customer-team specific R8 GT3 will be officially unveiled at the Essen Motor Show, which begins November 28. The car gets more than 500 horsepower going entirely to its rear wheels since GT3 rules give a big no-no to all-wheel-drive systems like Audi's quattro. The German will be testing its mettle against equally hot racers like the Aston Martin DBRS9 and... Full article...

First official Aston Martin Rapide image comes online
It's only one image, but it's supposedly the real deal. Or so says CAR Magazine in the UK, which published this rendering of the upcoming Aston Martin Rapide today. The publication claims the computer-generated rendering comes straight from Aston and previews the final form of this über four-door coupe. They apparently have another image in hand but are saving that for the January 2009 print issue of CAR. From what we can see, it appears that the Rapide will remain very true to the concept version... Full article...

WASHINGTON -- Detroit's Big Three automakers worked furiously behind the scenes Tuesday to craft beefed-up restructuring plans that outline more cost cuts and other tough measures to convince Congress to approve a $25 billion bailout.
