New Favorite: Hamilton U.S. 66 Power Reserve
There are a lot of automotive wristwatches out there. In fact, we had a really tough time picking only our ten favorites back in December '06. But once in a while, a new one comes along that makes us stop and take notice. This is one such timepiece. The Hamilton U.S. 66 Power Reserve has a striking and unusual design clearly aimed at automotive enthusiasts. Take the case, which almost seems to be shaped like a speedway. The dial looks like a tachometer if not so overtly as the special Alfa Romeo watch we... Full article...

Fiat in talks with Detroit 3 over Alfa Romeo production
The worsening exchange rate differential between the strengthening euro and weakening U.S. dollar means importing European manufactured models to North America is now significantly more expensive than just a few years ago. It’s a problem Alfa Romeo has to juggle with as it attempts to re-establish itself in the U.S. next year, but it looks like the carmaker has a number of options up its sleeve to help ride out the storm. One option officials are looking at is building a new plant in Mexico to supply... Full article...

Rare time a Bentley will not stick out
Dear Tom and Ray: I am an older woman who has just taken a vice presidential position with a company that is virtually all male and, thus, I do not want to display my profound ignorance about cars. The company has said that it will provide me with a car to use, BUT it must be one that reflects the company's success and status. Translated, that means I have to choose something fancier than the 2000 Lexus I currently drive. I am, frankly, looking for comfort. I like leather seats, and I want roadside... Full article...

Fiat could shift Alfa Romeo production to N.A. for sales in U.S.
The weak dollar is driving yet another automaker to the States. On the heels of the announcement earlier this month that BMW will increase production in the U.S, Fiat is considering moving production of both Alfa Romeo cars, and Iveco trucks, to manufacturing plants on our shores. We first broke the news in December, but now it appears Fiat is actively involved in talks with U.S. automakers to build partnerships and share manufacturing facilities with a goal of starting production by 2011 or 2012. This... Full article...

Geely GT Concept leaks ahead of Beijing show
It’s easy to compare cars, finding a curve here or a swell there that resembles the design of another. Many have said the Ferrari 599GTB and Corvette C6 Z06 share a lot in common, for example, although it’s certain that neither copied the other - it’s just an example of how common design goals can lead to common design products. Perhaps that’s why Geely’s new GT concept seems to have the feel of several cars - Maserati’s Gran Turismo, Alfa Romeo’s 8C... Full article...

Alfa Romeo Comes Back
Fiat Company announced they are going to take Alfa Romeo to the U.S. market. It is obvious among the first models will be 8C Spider. In the beginning the cars are going to be exported from Italy, but in the nearest future Fiat plans to produce them in North America. As Luca de Meo, the head of Alfa Romeo, said, they are considering Mexico as a production base. If everything goes right as Fiat plans, 2012... Full article...

Spy Video: Alfa Romeo 159 GTA mule spotted at the Nurburgring
Click above to watch the spy video of the Alfa 159 GTA Alfa Romeo has been turning out some impossibly beautiful cars. Unfortunately, most of the line-up is lacking the grunt to back up its killer looks, with the 8C Competizione floating beyond reproach atop the range and a huge gap down to the standard production models. Alfa is apparently looking to bridge that gap, however, with the 159 GTA.In the video after the jump, you'll see footage of a 159 decked out with enormous AMG Black Series-style vents... BMW to build Alfa Romeos in U.S.?
Earlier this week Fiat boss Sergio Marchionne revealed his desire to partner with an American carmaker over a deal to build Alfa Romeos in the U.S., but according to latest reports BMW could be the carmaker Fiat signs up with. Alfa Romeo has been planning its 2009 North American relaunch for years but the recent weakening in the U.S. dollar against the euro has thrown a spanner in the works. The best solution is to start manufacturing cars locally but Alfa Romeo will need help. Although teaming with one... Full article...
