Volkswagen Scirocco R unveiled
Don't get too excited if you're Stateside -- this puppy's a Europe-only treat. iMotor is first on the web with photos of the new Volkswagen Scirocco R. The UK publication had the slick blue hot hatch for an exclusive photo shoot, the embargo for which apparently lifted as the clock struck midnight GMT this evening. So, what do our friends across the pond get? Well, the Scirocco R features the Audi S3's 265-horsepower variant of the near-ubiquitous 2.0 TFSI engine, which sends power to the front wheels... Saab 9-Griffin concept
We would applaud a car that had the wings of an eagle and the body of a lion, but the 9-Griffin concept doesn’t actually follow its name; though it does have an unconventional design. The Saab luxury sedan goes asymmetric in design, pushing the driver a bit ahead of the first seat passenger. Windscreen on the four-seater concept follows the asymmetry and creates a bubble around the driver’s head. Doors on the concept also follow asymmetry; the passenger side has one large door, while the... Full article...

Designer creates concept for an unlikely brand: Chanel Fiole
Korean designer Jin Young OJ has created a concept car, for Chanel. The brand is far from cars, and designers usually build upon the designs of established car corporations and follow the design language. The designer’s interpretationfor the Fiole concept is a luxury sports car with a 2+2 seating arrangement. The design looks good, and is based on the black-white contrast so prevalent with Chanel. She has created quite a car; we’re tempted to make parallels with the Batmobile, but... Full article...

Hyundai Nuvis concept
Hyundai Nuvis concept was unveiled at the New York Auto Show in all its gullwing door glory. The crossover with a hybrid powertrain has exteriors designed to create an illusion of perpetual motion, much like the way water flows around the hull of a boat. The exterior creates the effect of a tall, premium urban vehicle. Interiors have a blue acrylic theme, the center stack and ambient lighting are blue as well. Fabric on the seats comes from recycled soda bottles. The hybrid powertrain combines a 2.4-l... Full article...

Audi D7 Concept Car
The Audi D7 concept was a part of Iran’s concept car exhibition “From Dream to Reality,” and it comes across as a flashy super sports car. It gets a front mounted electric engine for power, but the most striking part of the design is its use of Neon lights, for not just a flashy body, but even for headlamps and tail lights. The lights run across the length of the body, making it easily recognizable at night, but the job they do as headlights is most likely not very useful. More so... Full article...

Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky
General Motors' acting CEO Fritz Henderson has said the Wilmington, DE plant that currently produces the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky could be sold if a buyer was interested in producing the two roadsters. "If someone were to approach [us] with a proposal that made good sense for our people, we'd be open to it," Henderson told Autoweek. The move would ape Chrysler's plan for the Dodge Viper's production facilities, allowing another automaker to take control and continue building the niche... Full article...
