EuroNCAP has introduced a new appraisal procedure for assessing the level of whiplash protection provided by passenger vehicles in rear-end collisions. One of the few models that received the highest ranking is the Volvo XC60. The test for whiplash protection provided by cars is being done for the first time by EuroNCAP. The initial tests involved about twenty-five cars. The XC60, with Volvo’s exceptional Whiplash Protection System WHIPS, was one of five cars to get the highest rating. [source]

Gesundheit! All Volvo models now allergy-friendly
Ursäkta! It's how you say "Excuse me!" in Swedish, though you might not be hearing it much anymore as Volvo has managed to get Oeko-Tex certification for all of its interior fabrics including the roof lining, floor mats, luggage compartment mats, upholstery, door panels, leather-trimmed steering wheels and seat belts. This means the entire Volvo line-up is now completely allergy friendly and won't make any of your friends break out in hives.Seriously, this is why we love Volvo, which had embarked...

Volvo's S60 concept
Just like they did with the XC60, this is pretty much what the new production version of the S60 will look like.I hear the car is larger than the current model. To distance itself from the S40.What we re getting at is that it s high-time for Volvo in order to introduce a brand-new s60 sedan. Volvo s shoulder-like design confession will get a slight postmortem regardless a double wave accent antique each wheel instead of just a straight shot from front to rear.  We also see inevitable Audi and...

Click above to enlarge the Volvo S60 teaser image You would have to set your way-back machine to the year 2000 in order to witness the last time Volvo released a brand-new mid-size sedan. Volvo unveils long-wheelbase S80L for Chinese market
Just like the long-wheelbase Audi A4L that debuted in China yesterday, Volvo has just rolled out a longer S80 with an extended wheelbase designed to suit Chinese premium car buyers' tastes. Unlike the Audi, we have a profile shot to show the extra length of the Volvo S80L. Volvo entered the Chinese market with its locally built S40 in 2006. Now it has made the decision to produce this market-specific version of the brand's flagship sedan in China, as well. The S80L gets stretched a full 14 cm 5.5...

What Edmunds.com says Although generally competent and comfortable, the aging 2008 Volvo S60 falls short of its German and Japanese rivals in regards to driving dynamics, refinement and overall desirability. Volvo XC 60
These are the latest spy shots of Volvo's XC 60, winter testing. Although the test vehicle is quite heavily disguised, we can still pick out some of the details that will be making it onto the actual model. The profile of the car shows that the XC 60 will follow the same cab-forward design theme of it's bigger brother, the XC 90. The lower slung bonnet is indicative of the measures taken by manufacturers of SUVs to meet EU crash standards because a tall bonnet does more damage to pedestrians. A good...
