Most expensive states for car ownership There’s nothing surprising about the fact that the actual cost of owning car, basic taxes and insurance costs that everybody has to pay, can vary across all 50 U.S. states. What comes as a bit surprise is that this variance can top roughly $10,000 between some states over a five year period. Strikers resent Axle CEO's raise Striking workers are incensed that American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings Inc. Chief Executive Officer Richard Dauch received an $850,000 raise in 2007 -- a 9.2 percent increase -- even as they are being asked to accept wage and benefit reductions of as much as 50 percent. Delphi's exit from bankruptcy delayed WASHINGTON -- Delphi Corp., acknowledging it is unlikely to emerge from bankruptcy before March 31, has asked a court to allow it to increase the amount of collateral it will offer against its $2 billion in unpaid pension obligation.
