Nissan pulls out of Detroit and Chicago auto shows
Following the lead of Porsche, Suzuki, Mitsubishi, Ferrari, Land Rover and Rolls-Royce, Nissan has announced that it won't be present at the 2009 North American International Auto Show, otherwise known as the Detroit Auto Show. But Japan's third largest automaker is going one step further than the others and also pulling out of the Chicago Auto Show in February. You may recall that Nissan blew its wad, so to speak, at last week's LA Auto Show where it unveiled the new 370Z, Cube and Infiniti G37...

Nissan GT-R will do 3.9-second 0-60 without Launch Control
The Nissan GT-R is slap-your-mama fast, which has led to some dustup on the internet surrounding voided warranties when using the included Launch Control. Contrary to a previous report that Nissan intends to drop Launch Control from the 2010 GT-R, Motor Trend's blog is reporting that no decision has been made yet and we've heard the same thing from Nissan itself. The bigger point that MT goes on to make is that even without Launch Control, the GT-R is still brutally fast. When the magazine got its first...

Nissan to skip auto show | The Detroit News | detnews.com
Nissan Motor Co. became the first major automaker to pull out of the North American International Auto Show when it announced Monday that it would not attend the Detroit and Chicago shows to save cash. Nissan already has unveiled the next three additions to its U.S. lineup -- the Nissan Cube compact, the Nissan 370Z sports car and the premium Infiniti G37 convertible, all shown last week at the Los Angeles car show. In weighing whether to come to Detroit, "we felt this was probably right now, not the...

Magazine Tests The GT-R At The Nurburging And Can't Come Close To Nissan's Claimed Time
Could the Nissan really go 27-seconds faster? I just don't know. Unlike the Porsche time, we have video evidence of Toshio Suzuki setting a 7:29.03sec lap and he is super-committed. In fact it's a brilliant piece of driving. But I just don't see where another 27 seconds comes from with the car I drove Ten, perhaps -fifteen with a set of those gummy Dunlops fitted, Suzuki-san driving, using his sublime skills and telepathic knowledge of the car's handling traits. I felt I came much closer to extracting...

2010 Nissan GT-R to reach 60 mph in 3.9 seconds without launch control
The Nissan GT-R is just too fast, which has led to some fights on the web concerning warranties that have been canceled due to the utilization of the integrated Launch Control. In contrast to an earlier report that Nissan means to remove Launch Control from the 2010 GT-R, the blog on Motor Trend’s is saying that no assessment has been made at this point and the same is heard from Nissan itself. The lager point that Motor Trend goes on to demonstrate is that the GT-R is still totally fast even without...
