EPA docs confirm 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback coming in GTS and Ralliart trims
Any chance we get to grill a Mitsubishi PR person about the 2009 Lancer Sportback, our questioning inevitably centers on whether the five-door will be packing the Lancer Ralliart's turbocharged, all-wheel-drivetrain. At the New York Auto Show, we were told that the Sportback would "probably" carry the Ralliart's 237-hp, turbocharged inline-four and Evo IX-derived AWD system, but nobody from Mitsubishi would confirmed it. Some snooping at the Environmental Protection Agency's EPA website reveals that...

Mitsubishi Leaves Dakar Rally
Shocking news from Japan: all the work of Mitsubishi Motorsports is stopped, so there will be no more rallying, no more Dakar prizes. The automaker has taken part in Dakar rally 26 times, 12 of which were won. The Japanese manufacturer got so good in sport that it kept coming first seven times in a row. But those days are in the past because the company is cutting corners as well as many other firms and sport suffers first as an unnecessary luxury. Mitsubishi claims its good results in rallies for the...

New Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X FQ-400: Limited Edition with 405HP
In what promises to be the fastest and most expensive EVO yet, the Lancer EVO X FQ-400 will pack a souped-up version of the standard car's 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with a new ECU and exhaust system to produce around 405HP and 400lb-ft of torque. That should be good enough to propel the EVO from standstill to 60mph 96 km/h in around 3,5 - 3,7 sec. Comparatively, the 354HP EVO X FQ360 sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 4,1 sec.[source]

Mitsubishi Evolution X FQ400 coming with 405 hp
Autocar snagged a handful of pics and some initial specs of the UK-only Mitsubishi Evolution X FX-400, and as suspected, the hotter Evo is a road-going version of the ADR Motorsport-prepared sedan that successfully campaigned this past September in the 24-Hour Britcar Championship. The turbocharged 2.0-liter 4B11 will put out approximately 405 hp and 400 lb.-ft. of torque thanks to a new turbo, retuned ECU and center-exit exhaust. As opposed to the outgoing FQ400, the Evo X-based model won't use a race...
