Honda Civic sales down nearly 30%, Toyota Highlander sales up nearly 50%
Honda, which has been pretty well cushioned from huge sales declines than other automakers, said that November sales fell 31.6 percent. Honda said that sales of its Honda and Acura brands dropped 76,233 from 111,431 during the same period last year. The sales drop affected Honda’s entire lineup besides the Pilot which was up 4.5 percent to 5,601. Civic sales however fell 29.6 percent to 17,690.Rival Toyota also reported sales drop in the U.S. of 33.9 percent for a total of 130,307 units from both...

Honda V8 coming... in 2015
"You've got to have the right tool for the job." "You can't bring a knife to a gun-fight." Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. We've heard it all before. Honda makes some excellent engines, there's no doubt about that, from small displacement four-pots that rev through the roof to gloriously smooth and reliable V6 units. Unfortunately, the fun stops there, as the Japanese automaker has steadfastly stuck to its guns, not building an eight-cylinder engine when it can do just as well with fewer pistons...

NY Times Calls Honda FC Sport Concept Grotesque- Did They See The Same Car As I Did?
Quantum of Grotesque-Every angle is worse than the last. That is the NY Times Tori Tellem description of the Honda FC Sport Concept that was show at the LA Auto Show. When I see reviews like this, it just reinforces that the current mainstream automotive press could be one of the MAIN reasons Detroit is failing. They couldn't pick a winner if their lives depended on it.I personally thought that the FC Concept design was the most promising thing to come out of Honda/Acura since the original NSX.And after...

Spy Shots: Honda Accord crossover/wagon caught
Spy pics of a new Honda CUV have surfaced, wearing the U.S-market Accord nose, the Euro Accord Tourer's hatch and a AllRoad-esque ride height. The wagon is rumored to be a development mule, but despite the taped-on fender flares and added length, the body doesn't look half-bad.This new model could fit in between the CR-V and Pilot in the Honda lineup, and although there's no word on powerplants, the test mule had a rear differential, so AWD is almost a certainty. It is believed that this new...

What you’re looking at are the first spy shots of a an Accord-based Crossover that Honda is working on as a rival to the new Toyota Venza. Insiders say the crossover is based on the European-only Accord Tourer wagon but will be heavily influenced by the U.S. market Accord’s design.Power for the crossover could from the same 2.4L 4-cylinder and the 3.5L V6 from the current Accord along with Honda’s VTM-4 all-wheel-drive system. What’s surprising to us is that the prototype is hardly wearing any...

Honda producing wetlands, soybeans as well as cars | The Detroit News | detnews.com
MARYSVILLE, Ohio -- Honda Motor Co. is constructing wetlands to cleanse water that flows through its property. Soybeans grown on company land are harvested and shipped overseas for sale. Willows that sprout up are donated to feed a moose at a nearby zoo. And -- oh yes -- Honda also builds automobiles. Automakers around the nation are involved in more than just pumping out cars and trucks. Many have taken steps to improve the environment near factories, save energy, make a little extra money and benefit...

Honda rolls out low financing rates for best-selling Civic
The Civic has been a pillar of the Honda lineup for decades, and high gas prices have made it even more important to the Japanese automaker's success here in the U.S. Back in May and June, Honda couldn't make enough Civics, but with the auto industry here in the States imploding, even Honda's little money maker needs incentives. Right now, buyers with good credit can pick up a brand new 2008 or 2009 Civic with 1.9% financing for 36 months or 3.9% APR for up to 60 months. All models except the GX are...
