1961 Ferrari California Spyder sells for record $10,894,900 Click above for high-res gallery of this record-breaking Ferrari This past weekend a new record was set for the highest amount paid for a car at a vintage auction by a 1961 Ferrari California Spyder selling for $10,894,900 after auction fees. The sale was at RM Auction's second annual "Ferrari Leggenda e Passione" auction in Maranello, Italy, and the obviously wealthy buyer was popular British radio host Chris Evans. While we aren't experts on the classic car market, we can't help but think this sale... Article added: 2008-05-20 06:36:25 Article Views Rating: 183
1995 Ferrari motorcycle to be auctioned Ferrari doesn't make motorcycles. At least, not officially... but that fact hasn't stopped a number of custom cycle makers from taking matters into their own hands. Perhaps the most famous Maranello-inspired two-wheeler was made by Arlen Ness, but that one's not all that practical in conception. We would imagine a Ferrari motorcycle to be a truly sporting machine, equally as comfortable on the race track as the street, or, more realistically, being shown off in one's garage. Ferrari seems to agree, as... Article added: 2008-12-08 06:19:19 Article Views Rating: 111

2009 Ferrari F149 The worst-kept secret of the year is that Ferrari will be introducing a new car - one that the company insists will not be called the Dino, after the firm's legendary GT - at this fall's Paris auto show. The best-kept secret of the year is what, exactly, that new Ferrari will be.Thanks to our spy-photographer friends, however, we do know a few things about it. Like, for example, that Ferrari's newest sports car, which is known internally as the F149, has a normally aspirated although probably... Article added: 2008-07-15 07:52:17 Article Views Rating: 960
A Ferrari motorcycle? Only in our 1:12 scale dreams Click on the image above for more high-res shots of the Ferrari Motorcycle modelThere are plenty of awe-inspiring Italian motorcycles for us to dream about, but still, a Ferrari motorcycle would surely be a welcome addition to the sportbike ranks. Just what might a superbike designed by Ferrari look like? We can imagine a carbon fiber frame for starters, and surely there would need to be plenty of red bodywork. As a matter of fact, we think that a Ferrari motorcycle would look quite a bit like the scale... Article added: 2008-03-26 08:09:16 Article Views Rating: 180
Another Ferrari spontaneously combusts Ferraris are best known for their looks, performance, and exclusivity, but lately, it seems one could add flammability to that list of attributes. The latest case of Ferrari flambé involves a beautiful black 599 GTB Fiorano, which self-ignited at a stop light while being driven by someone who wasn't even the car's owner. Martin Bullen, who works at supercar garage Romans International in Banstead, UK, was at the wheel when he heard a strange sound followed by a brilliant display of smoke and... Chinese create ultimate clone: the F1 "Ferrari" cell phone It goes without saying that this isn't an officially-sanctioned Ferrari F430 cell phone. This is called the "F1 Phone," coming at you in bright-red injection-molded plastic direct from non-Ferrari manufacturing China. Craigslist find of the day: 1981 Ferrari 400i limousine Click above to view the Ferrari 400i Limo in low-resSo here's the problem: you want a Ferrari limo. Don't we all? A Maserati Quattroporte isn't going to do the trick, and the Sultan isn't willing to part with any of his. You could try to build one and risk being sued by Maranello, or you could log on to Craigslist and buy this one for just $25,000 or best offer. The vehicle in question is based on the largely forgettable – and therefore easily dispensed with – 1981 Ferrari 400i. It was... Article added: 2008-04-04 06:08:23 Article Views Rating: 225 |
