One Drive In The 2009 BMW X6 And You Know It Will School The RR Sport, ML, FX and Cayenne
After spending just a day in the 2009 BMW X6, I realized that the RR Sport, Mercedes ML, Infiniti FX and Cayenne are now oldies but goodies.I drove the X-Drive 35 the first half of the day and the X-Drive 50 the second half.MORE UPDATED PHOTOS HERE http://shows.autospies.com/gallery/2009-BMW-X6-75/page18/And to be honest with you, I was more excited to drive the 35 BEFORE I got to South Carolina. It's so awesome in the 335, it should be just as amazing of an engine in the X6, X5 and whatever else...

Rumormill: BMW working on twin-turbo four-cylinder?
Here's a juicy one. BMW Blog reports that it has two unnamed, independent sources who have spoken of a high-revving how does 11,000 rpm sit with you? new four-cylinder being developed for use in the 1-series. The power target of this fantasy mill is said to be 220 to 260 horsepower, and it would theoretically be offered in both naturally aspirated and twin-turbocharged forms. If this rumor actually comes to pass something that is far from guaranteed, to say the least, we're told to expect a 2010...

Is BMW Planning a Four Cylinder Turbo Motor?
We have been hearing from two independent sources that BMW is going to build a 4-Cylinder High Rev 11,000 rev limiter engine, hoping for about 220-260 horsepower. The 4-Cylinder will be offered in 2 stages with and without twin-turbos. We hear that the new engine will be exclusive for the 1 Series to start, but may go to a 3 coupe, but not the sedan.[source]

Edmunds reviews BMW X6 (Is it good or bad?)
It looks awkward in pictures and some find it hideous, but the 2008 BMW X6 50i isn't nearly as warped when you see it in person. It's kind of a supermodel from behind, with a slim, narrow roof at the top and curvaceous hips at the bottom. Designers call this sort of thing tumblehome, and an SUV without it looks like a refrigerator. The front is all BMW with a big twin kidney grille and fighter-jet-size intakes at each corner. The roof line goes on forever in profile, giving the X6 a hatchback-style look...

AC Schnitzer restyles ACS6 BMW 6-series
BMW-specialist AC Schnitzer has released its latest aero kit for the facelifted 6-series coupe and cabrio and has added a host of performance upgrades as well. Like its predecessor, the new front skirt of the ACS6 mirrors the famous kidney design of the grille but gets a more aggressive look with sharper lines and new-style triangular fog lights. The changes continue at the rear with a new, slightly smoother rear skirt and BMW’s facelifted taillights. Other changes include new side skirts, which now...

Now hear this! There will be no M version of the BMW X5
Since July of last year, we've seen several spy photos of a BMW X5 mule making an appearance all over Europe. The quad-tipped, camouflaged prototype has always been assumed to be an upcoming M version of BMW's SUV, but according to the crew at BimmerFile, it isn't going to happen. The mule that's undergoing testing will be a "sport edition" of the X5, similar to the 4.8is, but it won't be equipped with the M5/M6's V10. Instead, it'll be packing the twin-turbocharged V8 currently found in the new X6...

TTAC 2008 BMW 135i Review
My paranoid-delusional theory: BMW intentionally botched the 135i. The new car has the same engine as the 335i, meets the same American crash requirements, and satisfies the [marketing] need for four seats. If executed properly, the chances that the 1-Series would have eaten the 3-Series cash cow's breakfast, lunch and dinner. So The Boys from Bavaria took a 3-Series, screwed it up a bit, and said "here is your entry level car."Even a simple glance tells you that BMW doesn't believe in reincarnation...

Next-generation BMW Z4 to become a hardtop roadster
Spies recently caught the next-generation BMW Z4 around Munich and the biggest upgrade that stands out this year is a folding metal roof. The next-generation BMW Z4 will drop the fabric for a hardtop convertible following in the footsteps of the 3-Series convertible. Not to mention that rival Mercedes SLK is also a hardtop.Rather than just concentrating on competing with the SLK, the Z4 will expand its horizons and will take on the Porsche Boxster with a range of high-output engines. Sources say a...
