Volkswagen Golf VI GTI renderings |
The sixth generation of the successful Volkswagen Golf is ready to be launched, we will see it this autumn, but what about a GTI version? Considering it is also a very successful model, with better sales than even R32, yes it will be a good choice from Volkswagen to bring it. And spy shots already confirmed it. And here’s how TopSpeed believes it will look like! Yes we know it looks a lot like the newly-launched Scirocco, but why not? After all the Scirocco’s design looks younger and cooler than the Golf’s one, and maybe Volkswagen will do something about that!
The GTI version will be powered by a 2.0 liter turbo engine that will deliver 230 hp. It will be offered with a choice of either manual or DSG transmissions with six gears.
It will be available in both three and five-doors versions, but also a more powerful 4Motion performance edition with 265 hp is under development.
