Sometimes having great sales and producing autos too quickly might turn against the car manufacturer. This is what happened to Toyota which has to recall nearly 700,000 cars in China because of such minor problem as a faulty window switch. It was simpler when the passengers of cars rolled down their windows by hand, but in order to make things easier the automotive industry has connected the window switches to electricity and now the windows go down by a push of a button. The Chinese officials say the problem with the switches in 2009 Toyotas can cause a shortcut and catch fire. The exact number of cars is 688,314 and it includes 22,767 Toyota Yaris hatchbacks, 384,736 Camry sedans, 245,288 Corolla sedans and 35,523 Vios sedans. All the vehicles were assembled by Toyota’s Chinese joint-venture partners FAW and Gaungzhou Auto. This is the greatest recall for the Japanese manufacturer in China: it includes almost a year worth of production. However, Toyota reports that there has not been any public injuries or accidents connected to the current problem. [source] Add your comment:
