Sneak peek: Buick Excelle | detnews.com | The Detroit News |
Little is known about the all-new version of the Buick Excelle. It will ride on GM's new Delta II platform that underpins the highly anticipated Chevrolet Cruze. Under the hood, powertrain options are expected to mirror that of the Chevy Cruze. In a nod to the green movement, GM could also slot a version of the Chevy Volt's powertrain into the baby Buick.
The model could be sold in Europe. Should the new entry-level Buick go into production in Europe, we can expect the Cruze's 2.0-litre diesel engines to make their way under the hood. Regardless of whether or not European production becomes a reality, the main focus of the new Buick will be the Chinese market. While the Excelle has never been sold in American markets, it remains unclear if the small Buick will make it to U.S. shores.
