Scion Hako Coupe concept

Scion is calling the Hako Coupe concept "the sporty version of a box." This vehicle was clearly inspired by Scion's own xB, but officials told us that Tokyo Design Division, which penned the shape, studied global, youth-inspired trends as well. Looking at the concept's high beltline and chopped, blacked-out greenhouse, you can also see that classic American coupes were part of the influence.

Without doubt, the vertical windshield is the car's most striking feature, which we're guessing gives this Scion the aerodynamic efficiency of a brick. Its wraparound rear window could lead one to believe it would cut a cleaner hole through the air if driven in reverse.

Neat features include the race-car-inspired side mirrors that house integrated turn signals. The rear bumper has an integrated fog- and backup light on the left and the exhaust outlet on the right. Up top, there's a full panoramic roof.

Inside, two video monitor screens located on the dash take care of all of your entertainment needs. Videos and music can be uploaded through a Bluetooth connection. The two front and two rear seats are covered with an easy-to-clean urethane and rubber-like upholstery. The Hako Coupe concept's shifter is intended to resemble a large joystick.
