Following the example of other manufacturers, Renault created an all-electric auto. Kangoo BeBop Z.E. runs on lithium-ion batteries which have brake-energy recovery system. Its motor outputs 60 horsepower. Z.E. concept debuted at the 2008 Paris Auto Show. The E.V. is a combination of Kangoo BeBop production and the new concept: the auto has the LED front and rear lights like the vehicle presented at the show, besides, Kangoo model has an improved aerodynamics, 18-inch wheels and the body is set 0.8 inches lower to the ground than standard Kangoo vehicles. The batteries in the EV last for 62 miles, however, Renault claims the range will be close to 100 miles by the time of mass production beginning which is planned for 2011. The French automaker trusted AESC, Nissan-NEC joint company, to produce the batteries for the concept. Before starting mass production Renault plans to take BeBop Z.E. on a tour in Europe. The vehicle will be available for test-drives on various roads of the continent starting July, 2009. [source] Add your comment:
