Nissan GT-R Spec-V prototype burns upNissan GT-R Spec-V prototype burns up the 'Ring at 7:25

Rumor has it from those who have been trackside at the 'Ring during testing of Nissan's GT-R V-Spec prototype, that the car is churning out lap times in the 7:25 range (that's roughly three seconds quicker per lap than Porsche's Carrera GT supercar). The Spec-V GT-R is, of course, the higher performance variant that is expected to have not only more power, but also to trim down the standard GT-R's somewhat portly curb weight through the use of lighter carbon fiber components. Just how much lighter will it be? Some estimates peg the GT-R Spec-V to lose as much as 200 pounds. Power gains? Expect in the neighborhood of 600 ponies.
