The 2010 Ford Mustang won the new test of sporty cars and coupes held by Consumer Reports. It showed to be better than Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger. The Mustang was qualified as “an even more balanced and satisfying driver's car than ever before.” The pony car was rated “very good” by scoring 78 points at the overall road test. It was praised for “strong suspension, communicative steering and the most agile handling”, according to the senior director of Consumer Reports’ Auto Test Center. The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro also received “very good” with 71 points. It had to step down and take second position because the testers were unsatisfied with its width which slowed down the sport car’s agility. The Challenger has scored only 53 points at the test and was rated “good”. Its flaws were weak brakes and width. Although the designers tend to make cars’ wheel-bases wider, they do not benefit sport cars because it is harder to turn and do any kind of sport tricks with a wide wheel-base. Besides, the testers said, the Challenger had “a big car feel rather than a sports car” feel. [source] Add your comment:
