Mazda has authored a comprehensive guide to the company's design practice. From defining the Mazda design DNA to the profiles of the people responsible for creating the firm's vehicles, the multi-page document discusses the process of Mazda's concept car creation - including the design elements specific to Mazda and the company's brand philosophy. The guide also features a section on the company's design history from the last 25 years, a six-step overview to designing a car, and a detailed look at all the concepts from the Nagare series. Mazda has released sketches of a new compact crossover SUV concept the company will reveal at the upcoming Moscow International Automobile Salon. According to Mazda, the concept was developed following a 'crosswind' theme and is the latest vehicle developed using the Nagare ('Flow') design language, following in the footsteps of Nagare, Ryuga, Hakaze, Taiki and Furai. What sets this vehicle apart from the other concept cars in the Nagare series is that the new - as yet unnamed - car has been especially designed for the rapidly expanding Russian market. The Moscow International Automobile Salon will be open to the public from 29 August through to 7 September. A name for the concept is expected to be chosen prior to its unveiling.
