L’Oréal And Certpoint Systems Inc. Partner To Deliver Innovative Learning To Over 60,000 Global Employees

...L'Oréal extends its reputation for creativity, performance and innovation into employee training with its ground breaking “My learning” programme...

Monday 11th May 2009, CERTPOINT Systems™, a leading provider of corporate training solutions, announced today that L'Oréal, the world's largest cosmetics and beauty company, has chosen CERTPOINTVLS™, a global learning technology solution, to help deliver its new employee learning portal. It will be accessible through its corporate intranet called L'Oréal & Me. L'Oréal plans to deploy the programme to its 60,000+ employees, in 58 countries on five continents, in over 46 languages.

The My Learning programme will provide employees with their individualized online learning space. The programme is designed to optimise the learning experience for every L'Oréal employee regardless of location. It has been created using a blend of innovative learning methods and tools that range from traditional classroom workshops, on the job learning, distance learning to video demonstrations and creative Web 2.0 learning to meet the long terms training needs and expectations of every L'Oréal employee.  The training initiative will support all of L'Oréal divisions, brands and functional expertise.

Philippe Louvet, Learning Director, L'Oréal said: “At L'Oréal we have a firm belief that every one of our employees in all L’Oréal units around the world, should have equal access to continual learning in order to gain, develop and extend their personal and professional competencies. To achieve this we wanted to create a programme that went beyond the simple definition of blended learning as a combination of classroom and online techniques. We believe that the My Learning programme will not only help us to continue to attract the best employees but also to retain the excellent employees that we have.”

My Learning will deliver individualised training tracks to employees based on the technical and managerial competencies appropriate to their role. This approach ensures that every employee is empowered with the knowledge and skills to successfully perform their current role and can also see a clear route for advancement. It will also support knowledge transfer within the company; employee orientation; corporate initiatives such as diversity and ethics; and will enable information to be immediately disseminated quickly to employees.

L'Oréal selected CERTPOINT Systems to help deliver and manage My Learning following an exhaustive evaluation process that took more than a year to complete. CERTPOINT Systems delivered against all of L'Oréal’s criteria, including the quality of its product, experience of global implementations, multi-lingual functionality and ability to offer software as a service (SaaS). CERTPOINTVLS™ provides L'Oréal with a single platform from which to manage, deliver and track all online learning activities.

Philippe Louvet concluded: “The scope of My Learning is immense: not only in terms of the employee numbers and locations but also because it involves redesigning existing training programmes to make them fit for purpose. L'Oréal is passionately committed to learning and we recognise the huge dividends that this initiative will deliver. We also have an experienced partner in CERTPOINT who have already shown themselves to be very dedicated and sensitive to our priorities and objectives.”

CERTPOINTVLS™ will enable L’Oréal to create and maintain training content in a simple and intuitive manner whilst remaining a flexible system to meet changing training needs and also minimise its carbon impact.

Ara Ohanian, President and CEO of CERTPOINT Systems Inc. said: “We are excited to partner with L'Oréal to deliver next generation blended learning to L'Oréal’s high-performing employees across global markets. Together, we are leveraging Web 2.0 Collaboration and Mobile Learning to take blended learning to new levels of business impact. L'Oréal maintains exacting standards throughout its business and this announcement is therefore testament both to the strength of CERTPOINTVLS™ and our reputation as a global learning solution. We look forward to supporting their training vision well into the future.”

CERTPOINTVLS™ is a global learning technology solution that puts talent and knowledge to work throughout the organization and extended enterprise to increase and measure performance on the job for stronger business results.
