Mini is planning to bring one of the two-door concepts to the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show. The manufacturer has not announced which one it would be: they are choosing from either two-passenger coupe or open-top speedster. The production version of the Mini crossover is going to Frankfurt along with the small concept. The company works on both coupes, but it has not been decided yet which one should debut first. Both of the concepts are based on Mini R57 platform. Both of them are going to be more fuel-efficient than any other previous models of Mini cars. Media expects that two-passenger coupe would look better beside the crossover than the speedster. If the coupe does well at the show it might be the beginning of the whole new lineup of cars like it. The photos show that the two-door car is losing classic Mini boxy shape giving preference to rounded body which provides more aerodynamics and higher speed. It is very unusual for Mini designers to change the shape so suddenly, but they are still planning to keep enough of Mini features which would make the model recognizable. [source] Add your comment:
