2009 Ford F-150

2009 Ford F-150

Ford has produced more than 33 million F-Series pickups since its launch in 1948, and for 2009, the truck has been totally revamped both externally and under the skin. The tough, new exterior is dominated by a dramatic three-bar grille, and the F-150’s cabin is more spacious, flexible and refined.

A new high-strength, lighter-weight chassis allows the truck to deliver more horsepower, improved fuel economy, higher safety and additional towing and payload capacity. The new model offers AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control (RSC®) and Trailer Sway Control as standard. A Rearview Camera Assist and Integrated Brake Controller are optional.

More than 30 storage areas are built into the interior, while the communications and entertainment system offers enhanced functionality thanks to partnerships with Microsoft, Sony and SIRIUS. The vehicle will be offered with voice-activated navigation from SIRIUS Travel Link, Microsoft’s SYNC and audio systems from Sony.

The F-150 will be available in 35 different configurations, three cab styles, four box options and seven unique trim levels including the new premium Platinum specification. Under the hood will be a choice of three V8 powertrains: a 5.4-liter 3-valve Triton, a new 4.6-liter 3-valve, and a 4.6-liter 2-valve unit mated to either a 4-speed or 6-speed automatic transmissions.

For greater usability, the F-150 gets 6 inches more rear legroom with mechanically articulated second-row seats that flip up and fold against the back of the cab. These flip-up seats combine with a flat load floor to allow loading of items up to 47.9 inches tall.

An integrated box side step and tailgate step improve access to the pickup box. Any truck with a 6.5-foot Styleside box comes with a factory-installed Cargo Management System. Additional bed stowage space is now made available owing to an extender fitted to the end of the bed. When not in use, the extender separates into two pieces that fold and snap securely to the side of the bed.

The 2009 Ford F-150 is expected to reach showrooms this fall.
